Most Samoa accommodation outside of Apia is in traditional beach bungalows run by local Samoan families on village land. These are known as " beach fales" and whilst not all are on a beach location (some are inland or on the stunning lagoon edge), they offer a unique opportunity to stay in beautiful rural locations, to contribute directly to the welfare of the the local people and to experience the true Samoan lifestyle and culture. All beach fales on this page is ST$90 per person per night (about US$30) including meals.
Upolu is the main island with the international airport and capital of Apia both on the north coast. The largest island is neighbouring Savai'i, just 10 miles to the west. The journey to Savai'i takes 1 hour by ferry from west Upolu or 15 minute flight from Apia.
The following is a list of beach fales accredited by Green Turtle Holidays and guaranteed for its service, food and genuine samoan experience
